Psalms 48

There are two kinds of people during the Millennium Kingdom. According to Isaiah chapter 2 and Micah chapter 4, during the one thousand years, all the people will gather together to go to Mount Zion to worship our Lord Jesus, and listen to his sermon. Unfortunately, not everyone who hears and see Jesus understands what he has to say. These people who went on without understanding him will go end up fighting against Jesus. The ones who understand will worship him. During the one thousand years, Jesus Christ is the only one who will preach, from the city of Jerusalem. All nations will gather together to hear Him speak. Isaiah 2:1-5 says: This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:-

That is, the Millennium Kingdom, the Kingdom of God

-2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. 3 Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.

John 14:6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Isaiah 2:3: The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 4 He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. 5 Come, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord.

At the end of the Millennium Kingdom, people will despise God’s words, and train for war and fight for battle. Even though Jesus will spend one thousand years preaching, there will still be people who oppose Him. They will go to Mount Zion to listen, but they do not have God in their hearts. They go to church for their family, for their friends, but not for themselves. These kinds of people will fight against God and will be destroyed in the end. Verse 5 is comparable with Micah 4:4-5: Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken. All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.

During the Millennium Kingdom, everyone will work in their own vineyard, and will enjoy the fruits of their labor, they will be prosperous and successful. Micah 4:5a are the nonbelievers, and 4:5b are the believers. At this time, there will be only one God, Jesus Christ. And yet some will still worship the gods of their ancestors, though all the false gods will already have been destroyed. Some will listen to what Jesus has to say, and don’t believe in it, and keep walking in the name of their false gods, their idols. We, the believers, will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever. Those who sing praises to God, “Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the City of our God, this holy mountain” are the believers in Micah 4:5. When you believe in God, you come to worship God, and sing praises to Him. These kinds of people know the greatness of the Lord, and know the place where the Most High God dwells is the greatest place. In Psalms 48:2 it says: Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.

And it is written in Isaiah 2:2: In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.

Praise be to God.

(So why is it the joy of the whole earth? Because it is the place everybody is gathered together to worship God. Only God knows who comes with understanding of His words. If you go to worship God without understanding or without a heart to worship, you are wasting your time. Worship without understanding is meaningless.

Psalms 48:3: God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress.

He is our fortress, also written in Psalm s 46:1, 46:7, 46:11. God is our refuge, fortress, and strength and an ever present help in times of trouble. Wherever Jesus dwells is the most secure place. Because Jesus Christ has sold Himself to be her refuge. However, not everyone will believe in Him. And in Psalm 48:4, the kings join forces. These kings are the ones in Micah 4:5a, these people go to worship God, listen to Jesus’ sermon, without putting any of it to practice. And at the end of the one thousand years, Satan will be released, and they will follow him. Before this, Satan will be captured, thrown into the abyss, and locked up, so that he cannot deceive anyone. There will be no deception, and everyone will carry on as if they are all believers. But not all of them are.

To be a true christian, you must study the scripture on your own. You are a nonbeliever if you do otherwise. A baby without milk cannot grow, and a christian cannot grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ if they do not study the scriptures, according to 2 Peter 3:18. When Christians don’t study and meditate on God’s words, they do not know what they are believing, and when Satan is released, they will follow him.

Psalms 48:4-6: When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together, 5 they saw her and were astounded; they fled in terror. 6 Trembling seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor. 7 You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish shattered by an east wind.

Around 3500 years ago (in Moses’ time), God sent the east wind to cast locusts into the country of Egypt to destroy all their crops in Exodus 10. The east wind was a mighty wind sent by God. In Exodus 14, God sent the east wind to spread the Red Sea. At the end of the Millennium Kingdom, God will send the east wind to destroy all the ships gathered together at the Mediterranean Sea to attack Jerusalem. All those ships will be destroyed.

Revelations 20:1-3: And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

Revelations 20:7: When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.

According to Isaiah chapter 2, the nations will gather together to worship God, and Satan will deceive all those people, to deceive the nations who do not understand God’s words. Many scholars have predicted that Gog is Germany, and Magog is Moscow. These are not the only two nations who will attack Jerusalem, the Bible says that people from all four corners of the earth will gather for battle. Revelations 20:9-10: They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown (Revelations 19). They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

So why do these people attack? The reason is because they heard God’s sermon during the one thousand years but choose not to serve God because they do not understand it. They continue to walk in their own ways, the ways of their false gods. Even though Satan was put down for a thousand years, because of their fathers and forefathers who worshipped idols, they too, in their hearts, worship idols. There is a way to prepare yourself, so that you won’t be deceived by Satan. When you listen to the sermon, decide for yourself that you are going to study it, to make sure what the preacher is saying is correct. Like the church of Berea, after hearing Saul’s preaching, they went home and studied it in detail to see whether it was true or not. Do not walk in your own ways, but serve God with all your heart. Invest your life in the church of God, if not, you will eventually be deceived and destroy the temple in Mount Zion of Jerusalem.

Psalms 48:8: As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever.

As it is written in 48:1, the Lord is great, most worthy of praise. If the people think that He is worthy of praise, would they attack Jesus? Those who do not want Jesus to be their King will be destroyed when He becomes King, like in Luke chapter 19. If you allow yourself to reign your own heart, eventually you will be destroyed. If you let Jesus reign in your life, you will live. And what have those in Psalms 48:8 heard?

Verse 3: God is in her citadels, He has shown himself to be her fortress.

This verse is tied with Psalms 46:5: God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

Psalms 46 is during the end of the seven years of tribulation. Psalms 48 is at the end of the Millennium Kingdom. God is always in control, no matter what. He is always our King and our refuge, our strength, our fortress, and an ever present help in trouble. Anyone who attacks the believers will be destroyed by God. This is what we have heard.

During the Millennium Kingdom, people will have a thousand years to study Revelations, and will know that anyone who advances together to attack Jerusalem will be completely destroyed. Yet some refuse to believe in it. Isaiah 50:10 says: Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God. Anyone who fears God must listen to the teachings of His servant. Not everyone who preaches is God’s servant, you must be able to discern the gospel from false gospels. God will send the east wind to destroy them, and will send fire down from heaven, as written in Revelations 20. You must fear that and obey the word of His servant. Let he who walk in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord, and rely on His God. You have to acknowledge that you walk in darkness, and that you must lean on Jesus Christ. Do not lean on your own understanding. Isaiah 50:11: But now, all you who light fires and provide yourselves with flaming torches, go, walk in the light of your fires and of the torches you have set ablaze. This is what you shall receive from my hand: You will lie down in torment.

This torment is the lake of burning sulphur where the beast and false prophet will be thrown. Satan, the Antichrist, and the false prophet will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Anyone who does not fear the word of the Lord, do not fear God, and do not listen to His servant will lay down in torment and go to hell. Do not think for yourselves that you are better than those who will advance together to attack Jerusalem. You will be one of them if you do not study the scripture. Let the foolish attack Jerusalem and the wise build up Jerusalem and serve God.

2 Chronicles 20:20: Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.

Believe in His scripture and do not fight against God. His command is written in 1 John 3:23 is to believe in the name of His son Jesus Christ and to love one another. In Acts 9 when Saul persecutes Christians, Jesus Christ said to Saul, “Saul, Saul, why are you attacking me?” Anyone who attacks believers are attacking God. God is within the citadel and is the refuge. Brothers and sisters, this is why we must love one another, those who do not will attack will go to the new heaven and the new earth, written in Revelations 21 and 22. Those who do not believe in it will see for themselves when they are destroyed by God. Those who believe will see themselves established, to be prosperous and successful in the city of the Lord Almighty, which God will make secure forever.

Psalms 48:9 tells of how to understand God’s words: Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.

Brothers and sisters, do not simply listen to God’s words, you must hide it within your heart, and meditate on it. Psalms 1:1-2: Blessed is the one  who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Meditating on His unfailing love means to meditate on God’s salvation, His words, and the works of our Lord. Psalms 48:10: Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness.

When Satan is released, he can only deceive those who do not have God’s word within their heart. Jesus Christ overcame Satan’s temptations with God’s word. He said; “Man does not live on bread alone, but on the very word of God that utters from his mouth.” If you do not have the word of God within your heart, it is like going into the battlefield without weapons, you will be destroyed. We must meditate on the word of the Lord daily, so that we can accumulate the word of God within our heart. The more you know about God, the more you will praise him, it is clearly stated in the Bible that “Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth”. Those who refuse to follow Satan and conform to the ways of this world and believe in Jesus Christ will see the destruction of those who attack Jerusalem. The candidates who praise God are those written in Psalms 115:17-18: It is not the dead who praise the Lord, those who go down to the place of silence; 18 it is we who extol the Lord,  both now and forevermore. Praise the Lord.

The ones who extol the Lord will live, and see the words of God be fulfilled. This will happen sometime in the future, when there are cameras in the streets, and anyone with a tablet or smartphone can see the destruction of those who attack Jerusalem. The people with God’s words within their hearts will sing praises to God, and enter the new heaven and new earth, the Kingdom of God. Psalms 46:10: He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalms 48:11: Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments.

God will judge His people with righteousness. He will tell you that you will be destroyed by fire and the east wind if you attack Jerusalem. Those who still go are wicked. Did God not tell the people ahead of time to stop them from going there? Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld. Have faith in His servant and you will prosper. His command is for us to believe in His word and love one another. Love others as yourself, and you will find success and enter the new heaven and new earth, as recorded in Revelations 21 and 22. God will judge His people with righteousness, and they will praise God.

Psalms 48:12-13: Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers, 13 consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation. These verses are very powerful, and we must remember them. Those who attack Zion do not walk about her, or count her towers. They do not meditate on the words of the Lord, they do not know the consequences of what they are doing. Once the people know the serious consequences of attacking God and His people and His Holy place, they will be sure to tell the next generations. Be sure that your children are saved. Meditate on the words of the Lord, and you will understand what God’s will is, and then you may tell of it to the next generation. This is our job, as priests, and as parents.

Psalms 48:14: For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

Do not let Satan be your god, nor your own flesh. For the Lord our God, the almighty God, is faithful to all His promises, and will judge us with HIs righteousness. God is our God for ever and ever, and He will be our guide even to the end. Jesus Christ has said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” This is recorded in Revelations 22:13. He will be our guide to the end, a lamp for our feet, a light for our paths, forever and ever.
